A podcast of the WSLR interview, on June 16, between WSLR host Gary Olson and Bicycle/Pedestrian Advocates Director Mike Lasche, is available from:

http://btlsarasota.podomatic.com/

It was a great interview.  We covered a wide range of biking/walking topics including sidewalk riding, bike lanes, the recent drive to get the Governor to veto HB 971 (mandatory lane law), bicycle parking in downtown Sarasota, why Florida’s roads are historically bad for cyclists, and where to ride in Sarasota.  Enjoy! Mike Lasche

Mike Lasche, the Director of Bicycle/Pedestrian Advocates, has been appointed, by the Secretary of FDOT, to the newly formed Florida Bicycle and Pedestrian Partnership Council, as the citizen representative of the Florida bicycling community.  It will be the first statewide bike/ped advisory council since sometime in the late 1980’s.
